Interviews by my wife in prep for School Interviews
Interviews with David
You are currently scheduled to interview David on Tuesday and Thursday this week at 8pm for one hour. Please review the Interview Questions, Resume and be prepared to ask questions as you deem fitting to help prepare for the real interviews at Darden and Tuck.
----------------------- This was the letter I wrote and handed my wife this evening with a copy of my Resume and two pages of Interview Questions that I know Tuck and Darden tend to ask. I included scenarios to expect from both schools that they are famous for putting you in. For example, Darden usually starts out by asking you,"Tell me about your life" or "Walk me through your Career and life". Notice how it's not, "Walk me through your Resume or work goals." That's something Tuck Interviewers would do.
Anyway, my wife is so going to beat me up in the interviews. Well either bust up laughing or break down crying over my rough answers I think.
I'll be at Tuck on Tuesday next week for an interview and at Darden on Thursday for an interview. The travel costs to fly out there are nothing to laugh at. Getting to Tuck is like flying to a former Soviet Union country like Krygyzstan. (Yes, I have been there.) You've got to take a plane here, then connect to another small plane and then drive or take a bus for 3 hrs. I know the Green bus from Boston is pretty popular, but I decided to come in the back way this time and drive over. Getting to Darden from the San Francisco area is a little better, but I've still got to do some driving. Flying into the local airport nearby Darden had costs that would buy me a new high powered computer. So I decided to drive from 3 hrs out. I hope to spend time in town in Hanover on Monday and around Charlottesville on Wednesday. I really like these two campuses. Both of them, when I visited them before really impressed me. They both took my breath away when I first entered the school area. Remember that I don't come from an Ivy league background, so seeing these schools in person felt rather "Movie-ish".
If you'll be in the area, let me know. I would love to buy you a drink. E-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll hook up.
