Tonight, I started my Accounting II class. I wouldn't write about it normally except that my class experience was interesting.
The instructor from last quarter went on vacation to Italy. So we have one of the more senior instructors teaching the class. The replacement instructor is a 1999 HAAS MBA grad. He also has a CPA from a Deloitte & Touche consulting background. What a difference! Apparently, he decided to go to teaching and coaching soccer for quality of life reasons.
He teaches the class like a B-school class. He pushes the class to give answers and make us think about the big picture before seeing how the little things fit in. He provided handouts that were essentially like case studies of auditing. So now I have some homework due Thurs. I thought the Accounting I class was a bit challenging because I had to train my head into debit and credit thinking. I think this guys going to make the class very demanding. Yikes!
