Blogger problems today and cell phone stats & What's new
Found this interesting stat on Cell phone service. This stat was just released this week.
Blogger was absolutely dog slow and unresponsive yesterday. Blogger service quality is getting so bad. I'm thinking that the problems are being caused by one of the following or all of them. 1) Google's acquisition and their inability to maintain quality. 2) Downsizing of engineers and consequently poorly skilled engineers managing the environment. 3) A drastic increase of new blogs. 4) Blogger technology reached a point beyond it's software capabilities and their scrambling to add patches and re-engineer the platform to handle the increasing sizes and number of blogs.
Call me cheap, but I'm enjoying the fact that blogger is free. Perhaps it's time I put out the cash to start paying for a commerical quality one. I don't want to, but if the service quality continues the way it is for another month or two.. I think I'll have to make the jump.
===============What's New- MBA Schools================= Darden - Looks like Darden's dean search is coming closer. They have narrowed their search down to academic and non-academic candidates and are looking to have a new Dean in place by this summer. >>>>>>> Source
HAAS - It's always been difficult to get a cross-continental job once one has graduated from B-School. It's pretty much understood as far as I'm concerned that you're either on your own or are rather limited if you graduate from an east coast school and want to be employed on the west coast. I like the fact that schools are starting to address this. I believe Wharton created a west coast office in Southern California some years back and now HAAS has created an east coast job placement office in New Jersey. This is good news for HAAS grads. >>>>>>>>Source
Wharton - Dean Patrick Harker provided a very revealing update on Wharton initiatives to improve the quality of the school. It's so refreshing to see a school acknowledge where it needs to improve and to be open about what it is doing to tackle these issues. iwhoElse did an excellent synopsis of the survey. I don't think there's another top 25 B-School that even close to the level of vulnerability that Wharton exhibits.
B-School Rankings-Graham at Clear Admit brought to my attention a special addition magazine of US News & World Report that will showcase the 2006 B-School Rankings. He's included a very good summary of the results. The magazine will be released this Friday. For other B-School rankings, float down the right side of my blog to get the latest rankings created by other companies/magazines.
