My Blogger Header finally fixed - Thank you Google Blogger Help Forum!
For the longest time, I had a problem with the Blogger Header getting scrunched up when viewed in Mozilla or Internet Explorer. I have to confess that I spent hours trying to figure out what happened but this got me nowhere. About 7 or 8 months ago, I concluded that it was a Blogger Internal problem and despite my 10+ inquires with Blogger tech support(who never once reponded by the way), that I was going to have to grudgingly live with the issue.
Two days ago, I was having all kinds of problems posting entries onto the Blog. Blogger.com was slow and I was getting errors saying that Blogger engineers knew about the issues and that they would fix it soon. Then I was told that the problems had been fixed, but I was still seeing the lackluster blogger performance.
It's days like that day that I seriously consider moving away from Blogger. But when I think about the domain name change and migration learning curve to some other platform, I conclude that I need some REALLY serious reasons for moving away. So far, in the last 3 years, I've had 2-3 pretty close calls.
Enough of my tangent. So I ran across this Blogger Help Group and they had a section called "Something is Broken" to post to. I posted my bunched up Blogger header question and received no response. But this was in the middle of the Blogger problems so I figured, most people would think that my problem was related to Bloggers ongoing problems at the time. I posted the question again last night and pleasantly found over 6 responses this morning.
The combination of the first 2 responses fixed the problem! I not only replied with a thank you in the forums, but I sent him a private thank you. I was so relieved to finally find the fix for this messed up Blogger header thing. I'm contemplating sending this guy a thank you gift certificate from Apple.com or something. Yes, it was that big a deal!
Anyway, I know that there are many in the Blogosphere who use Blogger.com. It's not user friendly for customizations, but for a simple Blog, it's "oh so easy". But when you encounter a problem, it's pretty frustrating. So check out the Blogger help forum if you have issues. I found some great help and I'm sure you will too.
