HANOVER, N.H. - Dawna Clarke has been appointed Director of MBA Admissions for the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, effective September 1, 2005. Dean Paul Danos announced that Clarke will oversee the Admissions Office, which serves as the primary point of contact for MBA applicants and actively promotes the Tuck MBA program to prospective students.
Clarke comes to Tuck from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, where she has been for 15 years, the last 5 of which were as Director of Admissions. Prior to her work at Darden, Clarke was Associate Director of Admissions at UNC-Chapel Hill's Kenan-Flagler School of Business. She has been a member of the Graduate Management Admissions Council since 1987 and serves on the Board of Directors of the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management.
Clarke attended the Executive Program at Darden and completed doctoral level coursework at the University of Virginia's Curry School of Education. She received her master's degree in higher education from the University of North Carolina and received a bachelor's degree from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania.
Danos said, "We are fortunate to have someone of Dawna's depth and quality of experience leading our admissions efforts during this very competitive time."
Clarke said she looks forward to embracing the Tuck community, and getting off to a good start this Fall in the Admission's office recruiting efforts.
Clarke's appointment follows a nationwide search. She succeeds Kristine Laca, who served as Director of MBA Admissions from March 2001 to the present and will begin her new role in evaluating and developing strategic initiatives for Tuck.
