SINGAPORE and FONTAINEBLEAU, France, Jan 31 /Xinhua-PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ - INSEAD, the global business school, announced on January 25 that the MBA scholarships awarded to its class graduating in December 2005. Scholarships for this class exceeded one million Euros -- meaning the school has awarded over two million Euros in scholarships for the 2004/2005 academic year. This is double the amount awarded in previous academic years
In announcing the increase, Professor Antonio Fatas, Dean of the school's MBA Program, affirmed that, "INSEAD has always been committed to promoting diversity. We believe that the quality of the educational experience is improved as a richer variety of viewpoints is brought into the classroom." INSEAD accepts MBA participants from a wide variety of professional and educational backgrounds, hailing from over 70 different countries.
To further strengthen its commitment to diversity, INSEAD has created three specific scholarship programmes:
-- The INSEAD Alumni Fund Women's Scholarships, which support women.
-- The INSEAD Diversity Scholarships, for outstanding candidates, mainly from emerging countries, who have limited access to external funding for their MBA.
-- The INSEAD Asia Enterprise Fund, which supports candidates who will make a difference in Asia after graduation.
